Selection Screen
Account Number
- If the account number already exists on the Chart of Accounts it is brought up for change. If the account number does not exist, it is treated as an addition.
Data Entry Screen
Description of the Account
- Any entry on the screen can be changed by moving the cursor to the entry and entering the new value. All entries are edited. The data entries include:
- Name
- Account Type
- A - Asset
- L - Liability
- I - Income
- E - Expense
- Clearing Account- required for incomes and expenses. The account must already be on the chart of Accounts.
- Print-only
- Y - the account can only be used for reporting.
- N - transactions can be input.
- Volume Account
- Y - volumes can be reported for the account.
- Standard Size - used only for volume accounts.
- Release Type - Reference data for sub-ledger release programs.
- D - Release transactions to this account in detail.
- Other - Release summary transactions to this account.
Budget
- Amounts can be entered for 12 periods. When entered, the total budget amount is calculated and displayed. F5 duplicates the amount in the first period through the whole budget. For volume accounts, F11 switches to the volume budget.
Volume Budget
- Units can be entered for 12 periods. When entered, the total volume is calculated and displayed. F5 duplicates the volume in the first period through the whole volume budget. F11 switches to the amount budget.
Command Keys
- F9 stores the account at any time. The account definition does not have to be complete to do this. F7 ends the job without storing the current account.
